The wax you pour decides almost everything about your finished candle: scent throw, burn time, finish, and how it sets in the jar. There's no single "best" wax, there's a best wax for what you're making. We stock seven because makers at different stages need different things, and we'd rather help you choose well than push the same wax at everyone.

Beginner-friendly

Best for: container candles where you want a glossy, gallery-worthy finish, especially in clear glassware.

A luxe, 100% natural blend of 95% soybean and 5% beeswax. Suits beginner and advanced makers and works universally across containers, melts and moulds. A great natural alternative for pillars.

A balanced blend of soy and cosmetic-grade paraffin/Ceresin (60/40) with UV stabilising properties for longer shelf life under fluorescent lighting. Pre-packaged in smaller amounts, with a smooth surface reset after burning.
Best for: commercial makers and anyone scaling up. The smooth surface reset makes a real difference for retail-ready candles.

A transparent, jelly-style wax made with mineral oil and polymer resin. Stays clear and flexible, so shells, glitter and coloured embeds stand out. Burns slowly for a luxe, decorative finish.
Best for: decorative gel candles, ice-effect creations and novelty candles. Use fragrances with low or no vanillin for a clear finish.

Pure100 Soy. It's 100% natural, vegan-friendly, forgiving on pour temperature, and gives a beautiful creamy finish. A great result on your first try, and you can grow into the specialised waxes once you've got the basics down.
Both are coconut soy blends. Pure Blend Coconut Soy is vegan-friendly with no added emulsifier, prized for a clean, creamy finish and a quick cure. PB65 adds a soy-based emulsifier that helps bind higher fragrance loads for a strong, consistent throw across containers and melts. Choose Pure Blend for clean ingredients, PB65 for fragrance hold.
For natural waxes, Pure100 and PB95 BeeSoy both work across containers, melts and moulds. PB95 is the better choice for pillars because the beeswax helps hold shape. For non-natural, PB64 Professional Blend also works universally.
Usually pour temperature. Each wax has an optimum pour range, listed in the comparison table. Pouring too hot or too cold can cause sinkholes, frosting or wet tops. Trust the range, check the room temperature, and adjust seasonally if needed.
Our natural waxes take up to 10% fragrance, with 8% the recommended load for a clean, reliable burn. PB75 Gel is lower, up to 5% (3% recommended). Going above the maximum can cause oil seepage or burn issues. We test all our fragrance oils to perform within these ranges, so if you want to push higher, talk to our team first.
A minimum of 48 hours after pouring, and 7 to 14 days for best scent throw. Soy and natural blends benefit most from a longer cure. Mark your pour date on the base of the jar so you know when it's ready.
