Soy wax for candle making

Soy is where most Australian makers start and where many stay. It is renewable, clean-burning, forgiving to work with, and it takes fragrance well. Every soy wax we stock is supplied as flakes, so it is easy to measure and melts evenly, and every batch is tested in-house before it ships.

Which soy wax should I use?

  • Pure100 Soy Wax: 100% pure soy, no additives or blends. The most forgiving of the range and the one to start with. Works in containers, melts and moulds, and finishes creamy white. Melting point 50°C, fragrance load 6-10%.
  • Pure85 Soy Wax: our 464-type blend, for makers who have worked with 464 elsewhere and want the same behaviour.
  • PB95 Bee Soy Wax: 95% soy with 5% natural beeswax. The beeswax makes it harder, so it holds shape better in moulds and free-standing pillars, and adds a subtle natural warmth. One wax for containers, melts and moulds.

Soy or coconut soy?

Soy is cleaner to work with and cheaper per kilo. Coconut soy blends cure faster, throw fragrance harder and give a creamier finish, at a higher price. Many makers run both: soy for the core range, coconut soy for a premium line. Compare them properly in the Wax Comparison Guide.

Scaling up

Start with 1kg bags while you test vessels, wicks and fragrances. Once you are pouring weekly, the 25kg bags bring the per-kilo cost down considerably. Wholesale pricing applies to every order regardless, with no account and no minimum.

Before you pour

Always test your wax, wick, vessel and fragrance together before a production run. A wax that performs beautifully in a 300ml jar can tunnel in a wider one. Work out your pour with the Wax and Fragrance Calculator.
